| The Digital Eyewitness Media Manager (DEMM) allows law enforcement agencies to easily store and manage video files recorded by Kustom Signals' in-car video systems. The DEMM provides quick and easy file searching, easy playback and file duplication to DVD/CD/VHS.
Features
Database Storage
Depending on your storage needs, various hardware configurations are available; ranging from a stand-alone PC to a server with RAID array. The DEMM can be configured to support wired or wireless transfer or you can hand carry your removable hard drive or compact flash media and simply insert it into the DEMM computer; the video files are then automatically authenticated and transferred to the database. Once the file is transferred, it is easily located for playback or duplication using the computer’s application software. The DEMM (with database storage) is available in three configurations to ensure you get the right system.
PC DEMM:
- Supports up to 500 GB storage on PC
- Manual file transfer
Workstation DEMM:
- Supports up to 1 TB storage on commercial-grade PC
- Supports manual/wired/wireless file transfer
- Installation and training
Server DEMM:
- Configurable up to 12 TB storage on RAID arrays
- Supports manual/wired/wireless file transfer
- Safety of file redundancy with RAID array
- Installation and training
Easy File Searching, Duplication and Management
File retrieval and duplication for the courtroom is quick and easy. Search by date, officer name, time, event type, etc. No more time consuming searches for the right tape or for a specific incident. Once you have located your file, you can easily duplicate it to a CD or DVD.
To manage your storage capacity, the database tracks the age of the stored video files. Once files reach the expiration date you select, they are automatically removed from the database. Individual files can be tagged to avoid deletion regardless of their age.
For long-term storage and/or for file back-up, consider our optional DVD archiver. The archiver automatically copies every file to a DVD-R disc. Each disc is bar coded and numbered and the database records which files are burned to each disc. If a request is made for an older file deleted from active storage, the search will provide the disc number on which the file is stored. That file can then either be played and/or added back to the active database.
Security for Evidence Integrity
Each department’s Database Administrator controls access to the database. A chain of custody and evidence integrity is maintained by assigning usernames, passwords and access levels to authorized users. This not only restricts who has access to the database, but it also creates an audit trail to track which files have been accessed and by whom.
Shelf Storage
DEMM Express:
If you plan to store your files (RAM discs or hard drives) on a shelf as you have with VHS tapes, you’ll appreciate the convenience of our DEMM Express software. From one main screen, you can easily view, copy and prep the media for reuse. This is software you load on your own PC — no storage or database is included/required. |
